DWX-4 Compact Dental Mill
Mill with Confidence and Ease
The DWX-4 Dental Mill is designed for simple operation so that users can quickly set up and start creating precision prosthetics right out of the box. It combines simultaneous 4-axis milling with simple one-button operation and offers intuitive features such as a colour-coded LED light that signals machine status and an automated tool changer which provides two tools for precision unattended milling from start to finish.
Powerful Production Capabilities
The DWX-4 includes an automatic tool changer for two tools, and can be enhanced with the addition of an optional four-position automatic tool changer which supports up to four different tool sizes.
With an optional multi-pin clamp, the DWX-4W can mill up to four prosthetics in a single production run. The additional multi-pin clamp mills different pin-type materials simultaneously and saves time, labour and costs.
ย Compatible with Multiple Materials
The DWX-4 Dental Mill is equipped to mill standard blocks and pin-type materials, including wax, PMMA, zirconia and composite resins. Composite resins, such as VITA ENAMICยฎ are acclaimed in the industry for their superior strength and aesthetics. They can be finished without firing, which dramatically reduces labour and production time.
Connect Multiple Machines
Highly scalable, the DWX-4 offers multicast capability that allows you to connect up to four Roland machines to one computer, making it easier than ever for dental labs to expand their business and increase production capacity. The DWX-4 Dental Mill lets labs and practices control the entire process in-house with a single software seat, maximising your investment and resources.
Virtual Machine Panel
A user-friendly Virtual Machine Panel (VPanel) provides advanced controls so users can operate all machine diagnostics, calibration and milling processes from a desktop. The VPanel also tracks spindle time, tool and collet time, and overall machine time for maintenance.
Clean Milling Area
An integrated air blower* prevents excessive dust buildup, while a negative ion generator reduces static electricity when milling PMMA. A dust collection sensor prevents the machine from starting if the vacuum is inadvertently left off.

DWX-4 Dental Milling System Applications
Roland DGโs DWX series high precision dental mills are capable of producing a variety of dental restorations from a wide range of materials. The DWX-4 features 4-axis simultaneous milling and a two-station automatic tool changer for unattended milling of standard blocks and pin-type materials. An optional four-position automatic tool changer supports up to four tools of varying sizes while the optional multi-pin clamp allows you to mill up to four different pin-type materials simultaneously.

Crowns
ย
For permanent restorations that completely cover a tooth or dental implant, strength, margins and aesthetics are key considerations. With four-axis simultaneous milling and a two or four-station automatic tool changer, the DWX-4 can mill a single crown in approximately 20 minutes from zirconia, wax or PMMA. You can also mill precision crowns from newer ceramic materials that donโt require sintering, such as VITA ENAMICยฎ composite resin.
Copings
ย
Coping refers to that part of a crown that covers the prepared tooth and can be easily milled by the DWX-4 from wax for casting, or from a thin ceramic material to which porcelain is applied.
Bridges
The DWX-4 can mill small bridges from wax, PMMA or zirconia.
Abutment
An abutment is a structure that supports a bridge or partial denture. The DWX-4 is capable of milling a variety of abutments including hybrid, screw, glue-based, etc., from a variety of restorative materials
Inlays and Onlays
ย
Indirect inlays (intracoronal fillings) and Onlays (cusp fillings) can be milled from wax for casting metal, zirconia or composite resins. With its optional 4-station automatic tool changer, the DWX-4 provides the ability to produce the required sharp angles from small tools.
Pontics
ย
A Pontic is that part of a fixed bridge that is suspended between abutments and replaces a missing tooth. Four-axis simultaneous milling and the optional 4-station tool changer allow the DWX-4 to perform the precision undercuts required.ย
Temporaries
ย
The DWX-4 quickly mills gradient temporary crowns and small bridges from PMMA that are designed to maintain aesthetics, stability and function while a permanent prosthesis is manufactured.
